What most of them don’t expect is that the stone in their hand comes from a family that was cutting and polishing diamonds decades before lab grown was ever a category anyone talked about.

We didn’t start as a jewellery brand chasing a trend in a growing market. We started as a diamond manufacturing family, and the retail side of the business came much, much later.

A Diamond Family Before We Were A Jewellery Brand

In 1971, two brothers in Mumbai were running a single diamond polishing unit, doing precise hand work, day after day. By the 1980s that had grown into Roomy Exports, trading and distributing diamonds across India. Through the 1990s, the cutting had gotten precise enough that Swiss watchmakers were sourcing stones from that same workshop, and Swiss watchmaking tolerances aren’t a reputation anyone hands out lightly.

Over the following decades, we kept pulling more of the process in house, sourcing, cutting, polishing, setting, all under our own control. By the time lab grown diamonds became a genuinely credible alternative to mined stones, this family already had roughly fifty years of diamond instinct behind it. Roomy’s Jewellery, the retail brand you’re reading this on, only launched in 2024, started by Vallabhbhai Vaghani and Bhikhabhai Vaghani. But everything we sell carries decades of craft that most customers only hear about once they ask.

A brand that’s a year or two old asking for your trust on a lab grown diamond purchase is one kind of conversation. Why We Work Exclusively In Lab Grown

A lab grown diamond isn’t a lesser stand-in for a mined one. It’s carbon, grown under controlled heat and pressure until it becomes an actual diamond, same crystal structure, same 10 on the Mohs scale, same fire and brilliance you’d get from a mined stone. The difference is entirely in how it came to exist, not what it physically is. No mining involved, and a price that’s meaningfully lower for the same carat weight and clarity.

Every piece we make is set in solid gold, never plated, and every diamond we sell carries IGI certification. We didn’t choose IGI because it’s the cheaper route, though it usually is, we chose it because their reporting on lab grown stones is the most detailed and transparent in the industry right now, which means what you’re buying is verified independently, not just described to you across a counter.

What’s Actually In Our Catalogue

We currently carry over 5,000 designs, everything from a simple pair of studs someone wears to the office every day to full bridal sets built around a wedding a year in the planning. Most customers start with us on rings, engagement pieces, solitaires, couple bands, but earrings, mangalsutras, pendants and bangles get exactly the same in house attention, since we cut and set everything ourselves instead of buying finished pieces from outside vendors.

We’ve also worked on a few collections we’re genuinely proud of, including Elli x Dvasa with actress Elli AvrRam, which pushed our design team a little beyond our usual bridal heavy catalogue.

Where To Find Roomy’s Jewellery

We currently run five showrooms, three in Mumbai across Bandra, Borivali and Vile Parle, one in Vaishali Nagar in Jaipur, and our flagship in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Each store carries the same floral, boutique feel rather than the glass case, high security look most fine jewellery stores go with. We’ve had more than a few customers tell us it’s the first time they didn’t feel rushed while picking out a ring, which is genuinely the whole point of building our stores this way.

What Happens After You Buy From Us

Every order ships free and fully insured, and arrives in our own signature packaging. Because a ring or bangle needs looking after well beyond the day it’s bought, we send along cleaning guidance and sizing charts with every purchase, and handle resizing and general maintenance in house rather than pointing customers elsewhere for it.
